It was about a year ago on November 1st 2010 that we sent out word about our Bro. Greg Gordon of SermonIndex asking for prayer. Among those prayer requests, was a prayer for a help meet. That God would provide him with a partner to help him in this ministry that God has appointed him to. God has answered this brother's prayer, and we would like to rejoice with him.
I have been hearing these words for so long. Ever since I was a boy. The last days, meaning the time before the world ends, will be categorized by perilous times. There will be wars and uprisings. Conflicts of all kinds. This will not be isolated, but will be widespread. It will affect not just communities, but nations. Men will be gripped by fear and face great uncertainty about their well being and their future.
Today I'm taking the time, not to preach a message as I usually do, but to give a testimony. A testimony of the grace and mercy of my Lord Jesus. A testimony of Him who worketh all things after the counsel of his own will. Through the years that I have known the Lord, I have seen His grace and mercy manifested in my life.
Have you ever come to the point in your Christian walk, where you have to conclude "The Christian Life is not what I thought it would be?" Or have you been faced with such a trial or difficulty that caused you to feel as though God has abandoned you, or that He is not aware, and if He is aware, He is not concerned about your welfare?
In Luke 18 we have the parable of the Pharisee and the Publican. In that account we have our Lord Jesus Christ Himself painting a picture for us of a wicked man, and a righteous man. If we are honest with ourselves, the Pharisee's description of himself in that account, on the surface reads like the description we would give to a righteous man today.
those who are listening to the voice of God, know full well that all is not at all right with the visible body of Christ. One such watchman who is willing to stand and proclaim the burden that God has put on his heart for the Church, is Pastor Carter Conlon. The senior pastor of Times Square Church.
