Philippians 3:9
And be found in him, not having mine own righteousness, which is of the law, but that which is through the faith of Christ, the righteousness which is of God by faith:
On Saturday 14th May, 2010 my wife and I viewed the memorial service of Rev. David Wilkerson. God is our witness when we say that the experience was a blessing, not in the traditional understanding of the word, but in the fact that our hearts were challenged. We were challenged to surrender our lives to God and allow Him to use us to do as He pleases. We were encouraged to give up all that we have and know, loose all and to find ourselves in Him. We thought it fitting to give a tribute here to Rev. Wilkerson.
The Reproach of the Solemn Assembly
While seeking the Lord in prayer recently, the Lord led me to the book of Zephaniah. I must confess, I have never heard a sermon preached from Zephaniah, nor have I ever studied the book. When I went to my bible, which is normally well marked and underlined, I found the book of Zephaniah untouched. I began to do some study in the book, and also to see if I could find any sermons that were preached from the book.
One of the sermons that I located was a sermon by Rev. Wilkerson titled “The Reproach of the Solemn Assembly”. After listening to this sermon, I thought it fitting to add it to this tribute to him, as it is clear from it, and every sermon he ever preached, that the man was fearless for God, had a Holy Ghost burden for Christ’s Church, and did not care about anything but doing his Father’s will. Here is the sermon.

Video Tribute to Rev. David Wilkerson.
At the memorial service, there was a video tribute to Rev. Wilkerson that was particularly moving. It is truly a challenge to us who desire to be used by God in these last days. Here is the video Tribute.
Oh Lord Jesus, may the life of Rev. David Wilkerson demonstrate to us what You can do with one man who is surrendered to you. May we understand that it was not that David Wilkerson was anything special in and of himself, but was a powerful witness because of the God who he was sold out to. May we understand that what You did through him, you are more than able and willing to do through anyone who has made a similar surrender. May You grant us by Your Holy Spirit the ability to surrender ourselves to You and may we see Your hand move in a real and mighty way in the midst of Your Church in these last days.
