Occupy Wall Street & Protests Around The World: Setting The Stage

October 7, 2011 in Editorials, Events, site news, Uncategorized, World News and Events

2 Timothy 3:1

This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come.

Introduction:

I have been hearing these words for so long. Ever since I was a boy. The last days, meaning the time before the world ends, will be categorized by perilous times. There will be wars and uprisings. Conflicts of all kinds. This will not be isolated, but will be widespread. It will affect not just communities, but nations. Men will be gripped by fear and face great uncertainty about their well being and their future. The social order that men had become comfortable in, the institutions in whom men have placed their trust and upon whom they have built their lives, will begin to fail them. Absolute Surrender: The Story of Jacob’s/My Life Part 3

Genesis 32:26

And he said, Let me go, for the day breaketh. And he said, I will not let thee go, except thou bless me.

Introduction:

In Luke 18 we have the parable of the Pharisee and the Publican. In that account we have our Lord Jesus Christ Himself painting a picture for us of a wicked man, and a righteous man. If we are honest with ourselves, the Pharisee’s description of himself in that account, on the surface reads like the description we would give to a righteous man today. He was not an extortioner, unjust, or an adulterer. He was of a better reputation than the corrupt tax collector. He fasted, not once a month, but twice every week. He also gave tithes of all that he possessed. Now wouldn’t the average modern day church love to have this man as a member of their congregation? Read the rest of this entry →

Run For Your Life: A sermon by Pastor Carter Conlon

2 Corinthians 6:17

Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean [thing]; and I will receive you,

No one, unless they willfully choose to reject the evidence, can deny that our world today is not as it used to be. Everything seems to be in a state of chaos. This is not negativity, it’s realism. This is the truth. This is not just a matter of another fanatical preacher ringing the doom and gloom bell. It is the reality of the situation. Just look at the news. From failing economies, to global unrest, the world is experiencing some of the most difficult times it has ever faced. Read the rest of this entry →

To Be Found in Him: Tribute to Rev. David Wilkerson

May 15, 2011 in Editorials, Encouragement, site news, World News and Events

Philippians 3:9

And be found in him, not having mine own righteousness, which is of the law, but that which is through the faith of Christ, the righteousness which is of God by faith:

On Saturday 14th May, 2010 my wife and I viewed the memorial service of Rev. David Wilkerson. God is our witness when we say that the experience was a blessing, not in the traditional understanding of the word, but in the fact that our hearts were challenged. We were challenged to surrender our lives to God and allow Him to use us to do as He pleases. We were encouraged to give up all that we have and know, loose all and to find ourselves in Him. We thought it fitting to give a tribute here to Rev. Wilkerson. Read the rest of this entry →

Rev. David Wilkerson: May 19, 1931 – April 27, 2011

April 28, 2011 in Editorials, Encouragement, Events, site news

Sometimes we as Christians get caught up in this worlds affairs, and the things that main stream church tells us, and we tell ourselves is important. The reality is though that only one thing matters. That is, do you know God, and His Son Jesus Christ whom He has sent. I had never even heard of the name David Wilkerson until a few months ago, when I came across some of his sermons on YouTube. I found out that he was the author of a book called, “The Cross and The Switch Blade” and that he had founded Times Square Church in the middle of New York City. The Lord has used the words that he spoke through His servant David Wilkerson, to greatly impact our lives beyond which words can really express. The man’s life and testimony are a living example of the powerful and matchless grace of Almighty God. Read the rest of this entry →
